Asbestos Training for Cementitious Piping

This course qualifies for certification through DHEC for a one year license to do work on asbestos pipe. Participants will receive the forms to send to DHEC for the license during this class and we will cover how to do the paperwork. If you are performing this type of work you are required by DHEC to be licensed. This training is the key to obtain that license.

Students should bring a hard hat and eye protection.

Course Description:
This 1-day course is for both new and refresher employees and is DHEC and OSHA approved saving the employer costs over 2 day courses.
Students completing this program can opt out of an OSHA Respirator Program, Tyvek Suits, and other PPE due to the course contained an OSHA- Compliant Negative Exposure Assessment (NEA).
This course covers all the required topics of the OSHA Asbestos Standard and includes hands-on training exercises to include written work practices and an approved NEA air sampling test that the employer can use.
Students will have to successfully complete a written test with a minimum score of 70% in order to receive a Certificate and meet SC DHEC Requirements for licensing.
Students should bring a hard hat and eye protection.

William M. Frost has been a part of Frost Training & Consulting, LLC for over several years and has been teaching a wide range of classes for the Public Works Industry and assisting in course delivery statewide. William attended USC-Aiken with a major in Education and specializes in customer service, ensuring the student receives the information they need to be safe at work, and quality course delivery.

Who Should Attend:
This course is specifically designed for public works personnel who repair asbestos cement pipe. Both new and refresher employees welcome.

Schedule:
DHEC requires 8 hours of contact time for this class.
Registration will be from 7:30am until 8:00am.
Class starts promptly at 8:00am and will end at 5:00pm.

Registration Fee:
The registration fee for this hands-on workshop is $195.00 per person. All South Carolina city, county, or state employees receive a LTAP scholarship registration fee of $110.00. The fee includes course materials, break refreshments, and the noon luncheon.
Advance registration is encouraged so that an accurate estimate of the number of workshop participants can be obtained. This class is limited to 40 participants. Workshops with low advance registration will be subject to cancellation.

Payment Policy

UPDATED 2/15/23 – The Transportation Technology Transfer Service now accepts Electronic Check (ACH) payments in addition to credit card payments. While credit card payments are still the preferred payment method, you now have the Electronic Check (ACH) option. Your payment must be received within 5 business days of your registration. If your registration payment is not received by then, you will not be guaranteed registration for the conference.

Cancellation Policy

If you cancel your registration more than 72 hours before a class, your registration fee will be refunded, less a $35 processing fee. If you do not cancel before the 72 hour deadline your registration fee will not be refunded. You may send a substitute in your place, provided that you inform us of the substitute’s name no later than 24 hours before the training.  No-shows will not have their registration fee refunded.
