The South Carolina LTAP Center in partnership with the Florida Pavement Preservation Council will host a 4-part webinar series on Pavement Management Plan Development and Implementation – Preservation and Beyond.

The training is divided into a 4-part webinar series. This series gives the attendee a thorough introduction of pavement preservation strategy and its merits. Each part will focus on the various types of pavement preservation techniques as well as successful forms of planning and programming to implement an effective plan in any organization. This training will begin to unpack the various treatments successful agencies have used starting at the top of the curve. Treatments such as fog seals, asphalt rejuvenation, crack sealing, micro-surfacing and chip seal will be covered. Emphasis will be placed on utilizing a decision tree to properly identify good candidates for each type of treatment and when the best time to deploy these treatments.

Learning Objectives

  • Identify the needs of an agency by analyzing the roadway network condition and review how to deploy effective asset management techniques.
  • Review proper distress identification and analysis, and prepare an agency for the transition to needs-based pavement management planning.
  • Define and review specific pavement preservation treatments and highlight success stories from similar agencies implementation of pavement preservation strategies.
  • Learn how to ensure a long-term asset management plan and pavement preservation program in any size agency.

 

Speaker Bio

Chris Evers is the Executive Coordinator from the Florida Pavement Preservation Council in addition to his role with Pavement Technology Inc., a company he joined in 2012. Chris was instrumental in the founding of the Florida Pavement Preservation Council in 2010. Chris has over 23 years of experience in the heavy highway construction industry. Chris has been involved in all facets of heavy highway educational efforts. He is the Past President of the American Public Works Association Florida Chapter. His involvement in the Florida Chapter has spanned a multitude of Committee Chairs, Task Forces and Officer Positions. In 2012 he founded the Public Works Director Roundtable and he also moderates the International PWD Roundtable at PWX. He has been an active speaker for APWA, FACERS, ASCE, ASHE, ARRA, Florida T2 Center, and the Florida Airports Council. A faithful disciple of Pavement Preservation he will be handling the introduction to both FPPC and Pavement Preservation in general.

Larry Galehouse, P.E., P.S. is a Local Agency Coordinator and was the founding Director of the National Center for Pavement Preservation (NCPP), located at Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan. The NCPP is home to the AASHTO Transportation System Preservation -Technical Services Program (TSP·2), for both pavement and bridge preservation, and the home of the AASHTO Equipment Management Technical Services Program. Mr. Galehouse is a licensed Professional Engineer and Professional Surveyor in Michigan and was the past chair of the Transportation Research Board (TRB) Committee on Pavement Preservation and the Committee on Pavement Maintenance. In addition, he serves on many other committees and tasks groups dealing with preservation issues.

Schedule

Part 3 of this online, live webinar will be offered April 13 (1:30pm-3:00pm). Online class check-in is from 1:15pm-1:30pm. Online instruction will begin promptly at 1:30pm and will end at 3:00pm. This course will not be recorded, registrants must attend during the scheduled times.

The training is divided into a 4-part webinar series. You will need to register for each part individually if you wish to attend each session, but you are not required to attend each session. Each session offers 1.5 PDHs, for a total of 6 PDHs if you attend all 4 sessions. Only registered attendees will receive PDH certificate at the end of the course and will only receive hours for the sessions they attend.

This course will be offered at no cost and includes access to the course at the designated date(s)/time(s), downloadable course materials, and certificate of attendance. Payment Policy

UPDATED 2/15/23 – The Transportation Technology Transfer Service now accepts Electronic Check (ACH) payments in addition to credit card payments. While credit card payments are still the preferred payment method, you now have the Electronic Check (ACH) option. Your payment must be received within 5 business days of your registration. If your registration payment is not received by then, you will not be guaranteed registration for the conference.

Cancellation Policy

If you cancel your registration more than 72 hours before a class, your registration fee will be refunded, less a $35 processing fee. If you do not cancel before the 72 hour deadline your registration fee will not be refunded. You may send a substitute in your place, provided that you inform us of the substitute’s name no later than 24 hours before the training.  No-shows will not have their registration fee refunded.
